Assignments to the end of the year

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

Please pass in all you homework still due this Friday. Several of you will receive separate emails detailing what still needs to be passed in.

Several students re-took the first test as a make up after studying. Anyone else who would like to bring up their grade may study from the test they already took and re-take the test to bring up their grade during the first make up class, Dec. 22nd.

For this Friday, I'd like you to take an open book test on respiration. Please write/type in the questions and answer in full sentences the questions on pages 237 and 238, Chapter 9 Assessment.

The next 3 classes after this are make up classes, on Monday Dec. 22, Tues. Dec. 23rd, and Monday Jan. 12th. The classes will be held at our regular times, 10-12 and 12-2.

For these classes, you need to read Chapter 10, Cell Growth and Division and answer questions on pg 243, 249, 252. You may then complete a take home test, answering the questions 1-25 on pg 257 and questions 28, 29, 31. For AP credit answer questions: 27,30, 32 and the Writing in Science Section. (Please indicate under a separate heading that you are answering these questions for AP credit).

Read Chapter 11, Introduction to Genetics. Please note that on this Friday we will focus on Mitosis and Meiosis in the Labs, so please read those sections first. Answer questions on pg 266, 274, 278 and 280. The take-home test portion will consist of the questions on pg 283 and questions 22, 23, 26. AP questions are: 24, 25, 27, 28, 30.

Jan. 12th will be your last chance to pass things in and the day you will take the final test, using your take home tests to study from.

The labs we do will be completed during class time, so there should be no write ups for what we do in class.
I know this is a lot, but I know you are all capable of getting the work done. Please note that everything is due on Jan. 12th.
